About The Artist
Natalie Troyer is a figurative artist located in Central Illinois whose work is inspiration by classical antiquity, narrative theory and multiplicity. As a graduate of Illinois State University with a focused in Studio Arts and printmaking, Natalie has received numerous awards, including the Peter Waanders Scholarship at Anderson Ranch Art Center, Best of Show at McLean County Art Center, as well as the Irving S. Tick Award, the ISU Friends of the Arts Talent Grant, and the Normal Editions Workshop Scholarship at Illinois State University.
Exploring narrative and the human figure through autobiographical elements, personal relationships and familial dynamics, Troyer creates scenes with layers of intertextuality, inviting viewers to challenge and question concepts around objects, memory and storytelling.
Currently she works as a Graphic Designer at The Siebel School of Computing and Data Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. In her spare time, Natalie enjoys quilting, spending time with her cat and playing video games with her sisters.
